Last Saturday's BRS race at Kranji KF1 Circuit started off strong, with clear sunny skies and adequate humidity to foreshadow the events to come.
It was the best result we could ever ask for, and we're super happy for Lud for clinching his first podium finish here at BRS 2019. And for the rest of the riders, glad y'all could finish the race proper.
Iron Horse Race Team could not have possibly done this, of course, with the help of our sponsor Liqui Moly Singapore.
Next race is set for October, keep watching this space as we fill it up with more pictures and hopefully more silverware!
Having handed over the reins of the event to Singamoto, KP Motorsports took a back seat after two successful rounds. A huge thanks to Peter and team plus other partners such as Liqui Moly Singapore, Speedzone, Bear's Garage, Occi Racing and Chalk Board SG for selflessly sacrificing their time and effort to make this happen. The seeds that you have sown will continue to flourish and grow in the local motorsports community. Singamoto has done a great job so far in carrying on the torch.
Well, on to it then!
The first few rounds of free practice went on uneventfully, save for one of the organiser Khal's unfortunate crash during FP1. He was rushed to the hospital to get his hand looked at, but being the ever hardworking and dedicated organiser, still returned back to the track to make sure everything still went off without a hitch. Salute to you sir!

As usual, our four riders were quick to get warmed up, having been here the day before to set-up our very own Iron Horse Pit (Yes we finally got a pit!)

Lud took a good position early on during FP2, securing P2 with James Teo from Motoworld Racing close behind, a sign of the foreboding battle to arrive.

The track slowly heated up until qualifying in the late afternoon, and that's where our riders really shone - pun much intended.

With decent starting positions from Dan, WJ and Jackson (12th, 8th and 6th respectively) and Lud starting fourth on the grid, everything else was left to each riders' individual grit, and Lady Luck.
Unfortunately for our brother Hakim at Bear's Garage, he suffered a bad crash during Qualifying which left his underbone out of action, due to a brake pad flying out (we know, WHAT THE HECK) of his front wheel. Like the behemoth like he is, however, Hakim just shrugged it off and proceeded for his other Supermoto event instead. Bear doesn't do this iron man justice.
The evening race was probably the main event, with so much happening right from the get go. Lud managed to launch himself in front of the pack with James hot on his heels. Jackson managed to pull himself up to fourth position but was pushed back to eighth due to crashing out on the eighth lap.
Lud managed to retain his position behind Rizal from KTM, however and crossed the finish line in second place, and for the first time in Iron Horse history stood atop of the highest podium for us.
