KP Motorsports BRS 2019 Round 2 - The Boys Are Back!

We'd never thought we'd see the day where not one, not two, not even three, but four of our key riders take part in a race together as the Iron Horse Racing Team, but the stars aligned last weekend and our race-fit squad were raring to go.

The boys chilling at the races

Like every race, prior preparation and servicing is mandatory for top-performing machines, thus our guys got busy replacing worn-out parts, switching out fairings for sturdier fibreglass ones and of course, replacing old or used oils and lubricants with our trusty Liqui Moly racing oil.

KP Motorsports first held their BRS 2019 series back in 2 April this year, at the same locale of KF1 Karting Circuit, in Kranji. A traditionally tight circuit made for go-karts specifically, the arena eventually caved and allowed smaller capacity motorcycles to rip up its well-maintained tarmac.

The first Bike Race Series was a roaring hit, with many local riders competing with each other in the various classes (Supermoto, Underbone and 400CC under).

BY far the cutest photo of the morning's practice and qualifying goes to this shot by Torquee productions:

Round and round we go. Hey look there's Jackson! XD

FP1, FP2 and Qualifying went off without much of a hitch, thanks to the great weather and a more organised event schedule planned by the KP Motorsports Team.

Fueling up is serious business.

As the skies darkened and it seemed like the clouds would open up, a wet race was more or less expected. Regardless of the track conditions, we saddled up and hit the tarmac for the final race of the night.

In such a tight, confined track, contact was bound to be made. Lud and Jackson did go down initially but both fought back to claim their positions.

Got Marc Marquez feels ah
And here are the final results of the race. Iron Horse did pretty well, considering we were up against larger capacity models as well as newer, much faster bikes. I guess two-stroke machines still have their work cut out for them.

Congratulations to Jackson, Daniel, Lud and WJ for attaining third, seventh, eighth and twelve positions respectively in the race! It just goes to show that with sheer determination and grit, even the worst of situations can still turn out in your favour.

I mean, just look at Jackson on that podium! We've rarely seen such a grin on that usually serious face.

He won a raincoat for the lucky draw lol

A job well done and dusted, with a respectable podium finish to boot. Iron Horse Racing would like to thank KP Motorsports, all participating racers and sponsors, as well as our team's main lubricant and oils sponsor, Liqui Moly Singapore for always being on hand to help out.

Look forward to Iron Horse's next track day coming this month on 20 July! More details can be found here so sign up quick while vacancy is still available!

Till then, race hard and ride safe everyone.
